It is hard trying to tie together a story that has embodied a rather larger than life aspect. Initially, the main idea was to come up with a story about the supernatural in a rather expansive way. To elaborate on this first version of the story, I had needed to tie together a vast history that elaborates bloodlines, blood wars and romances that intertwined the three powerful families. It was a brilliant concept, truly, but I was wise enough to not immediately delve into it.

There was too much work for such a short, menial-perceiving story. After all, this was supposed to help me build my skill sets towards adding content to my portfolio.
If I hadnt been kicked out of school, this would have been PRJ201 thats worth some credit to include into my portfolio — I would have the necessary skill sets for the relevant positions. The portfolio is necessary to create network and obtain a full-time work as an artist or illustrator or (even better) an animator through the world wide web — the problem with that right now is I am out of usable domains because funds, and the websites I wanna make work are just beyond ridiculous. Too many things to do for something that feels extremely trivial to me.

But I shouldnt look down on the triviality of web-making(-ish). To obtain the .html vocab that I possess now is thoroughly impressive for many people. It's thanks to my years of blogging since 2005, but also the very little .css that I vaguely remember. These, ladies and gentlemen, are actually mathematical formulas in programming language that uses English. HEHE I possess many things, but I have always been on the end of the stick in terms of receiving what I have been giving. Well, like, what goes around comes around. Like my belief in the karma of life, all deeds will be returned in favour. And I believe I have done too many favours to warrant an exasperated cry of "WHY". So here's the deal. I've been focusing on other people and other things for far too long. I really need to buck up and get my shit together. So, Pastel Patch will commence production this Good Friday holiday... long weekend. Pencils (drafts and sketches), traditionals (fine art production), and then digitals (for HQ-300 printing, LQ-72 social media platforms). Digitals include animatics, gifs and even digital sketches. All of these, for the story only.

Pastel Patch Academy/Institute/School is a place where gifted students go for the summer. (Inching towards the decision of making it a boarding school; I have yet to conclude my choice as of this writing.) So yes, it is a school setting, but no, it will not be a school-academy thing by rules nor association. It is merely a facade of sorts. Like another X-Mansion/Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. So then the story can take a more personal, now-I-know approach. It'll be easier to set the tone of the story through this manner too — through youngsters and/or young adults' pair of eyes. Balancing a 'younger' aesthetic set for a more mature story will prove to be a challenge but I cant wait to start.

The story can stand alone as a poetic novel, but it is best to pair/complete it with the visuals. Getting the story out novel-form is of exceptional importance at this point in time. The illustrations backing up the story comes secondary. And then, all other illustrations heheh. Oh yes, there's also the background spread that I would like to do. Three things: 1) story novel 2) illustrations for story 3) background animatics. I will attempt to update as much as I can through the progress. The aim is June. I have pushed back my project for far too long. Now or never, earlier better!
